
Daniella
Wexler
Company Director
Daniella Wexler graduated from the University of Brighton with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS. She spent nine years as a full-time KS2 teacher, predominantly in Year 6, where her passion for education and commitment to every child shone through. Known for going above and beyond, Daniella has always placed the wellbeing and success of her pupils at the heart of everything she does.
From a young age, Daniella also developed a love for the performing arts, thriving on the energy of the stage. She trained with a dance company from the ages of 9 to 16, performing at a variety of events, including Wembley. Her dedication led her to remain with the company as an assistant teacher for two years before beginning university. Alongside this, she achieved both GCSE and A-Level qualifications in Dance and trained in ballet.
After a fulfilling teaching career, Daniella combined her professional expertise with her lifelong passion for performance to co-found an exciting performing arts academy. Her vision is to nurture and inspire children, helping them grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
Since 2018, Wexli has staged numerous full-scale productions, including Grease, Legally Blonde, and Joseph. Daniella, Jo, and the entire team are committed to raising the bar with every performance. Daniella takes immense pride in every child, finding joy in watching them develop confidence, self-esteem, and a love for performing on a professional stage.

Jo
Li
Company Director
Jo Li graduated from Middlesex University with a B.Ed (Hons) in Music. She has worked for 30 years as a primary school teacher, specialist teacher and Advisory Teacher in schools, across Hertfordshire and North London. Highlights include working with Sing Up, Voices Foundation, and performances at the Royal Albert Hall with Hertfordshire Galas and Prom Praise.
As a child Jo learnt to play the piano, flute and saxophone as well as being a member of orchestras and choirs. She enjoyed participating in shows and productions throughout school and University. ​
The highlight of her teaching career has been directing shows and productions such as: West Side Story, The Lion King, Oliver, Mary Poppins, Annie, Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jonah-man Jazz, Wizard of Oz, Grease, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and We will Rock You.
Jo is delighted to be teaming up with her friend and colleague to start a new and exciting venture: Wexli Academy.
Sophie
Hall
Performing Arts
Teacher

Sophie Hall is Wexli Academy's Performing Arts Teacher.
During primary school, Sophie starred in The Lion King ad West Side Story - directed by Daniella and Jo. This was her first taste of being a star.
Sophie graduated from Emil Dale Academy in 2021, where she not only completed her A Levels in Performing Arts but also spent three years training towards and achieving a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre.​
Her passion for performing began at just four years old, and she has since appeared in a wide range of musicals. Some of her favourites being Legally Blonde, Annie, Les Miserables and Hairspray. Some of Sophie’s earliest experiences on stage were even directed by Daniella and Jo during her primary school years!​
Sophie is deeply passionate about sharing her knowledge and love of the arts, inspiring children of all ages to express themselves through musical theatre.​
Having been part of Wexli since its very first show, The Greatest Showman, Sophie is incredibly proud to now be directing alongside Daniella and Jo.

Lara
Vickers
Live Sound Technician
Lara Vickers is Wexli Academy's Live Sound Technician.
During primary school, Jo was Lara’s music teacher! Since completing her GCSEs, Lara has volunteered as a sound technician at every school production directed by Jo and Daniella, starting with West Side Story in 2009.

Lara plays the guitar and drums and is currently at the University of Hertfordshire studying for her BA in Music, having already achieved her Level 3 Btec in Music Practice.
We are now so happy to officially make her a member of the Wexli Academy family and can’t wait for all the amazing things we will achieve together.
